My friend Lily (Susan) started it by calling me “Debutante” which devolved into “Taunter” and well, you get the picture. I’d like to be a taunter but lack the insouciance needed towards other people’s feelings to carry it off with any regularity. To say I’m Never Married is accurate although I no longer identify as Single. Female, yes. Middle-aged, definitely. While I have dreams of whimsicality, the reality is that I’m slightly off-kilter but with a tendency towards the mundane.
